Ingredients

1 loaf of French or Italian bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)

1 teaspoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for an extra cheesy kick)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well incorporated to create your garlic herb butter.

Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. If you prefer individual slices, cut it into thick slices without cutting all the way through.

Generously spread the garlic herb butter evenly across the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to cover every corner for a burst of flavor in every bite!

If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered sides of the bread.

Place the bread halves (or slices) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the butter is bubbly.

For an even crispier finish, you can broil the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes—just keep an eye on it to prevent burning!

Remove from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious garlic bread!
