Ingredients

4 tuna steaks (about 6 ounces each)

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

2 tablespoons lemon zest (from one lemon)

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.

Marinate the Tuna: Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish or a zip-lock bag and pour half of the marinade over them. Make sure the tuna is well-coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Preheat the Grill or Pan: If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, heat a non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the Tuna: Remove the tuna from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Season with salt and pepper. Grill or sear the tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or cook longer if you prefer it more done.

Create the Glaze: Meanwhile, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.

Glaze the Tuna: Once the tuna is cooked to your liking, remove it from the heat and brush the thickened glaze over each steak generously.

Serve: Plate the glazed tuna steaks and drizzle any remaining glaze on top. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
