Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup finely diced onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup dill pickle relish

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

Salt and pepper, to taste

10-12 egg roll wrappers

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Optional: sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and any burger toppings of your choice

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Mix the Filling: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese, dill pickle relish, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and the cheese starts to melt. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Assemble the Egg Rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you, forming a diamond shape. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling in the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold the sides over, and roll tightly towards the top. Seal the edge with a little water.

Heat the Oil: In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if it's ready by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

Fry the Egg Rolls: Carefully place 3-4 egg rolls in the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve: Repeat the frying process with remaining egg rolls. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra crunch. Serve hot with additional ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce. Feel free to garnish with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, or other burger toppings for a fresh touch.
