Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Pumpkin Cheesecake Layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Make the Brownie Mixture: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, followed by the eggs and vanilla. Mix well until fully combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients in the saucepan, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Prepare the Brownie Layer: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly to cover the bottom.

Prepare the Pumpkin Cheesecake Mixture: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the sugar, egg, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix until creamy and well combined.

Layer the Cheesecake Mixture: Spoon the pumpkin cheesecake batter over the brownie layer evenly. Using a butter knife or a toothpick, swirl the two batters together for a marbled effect.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
